Klahanie Park isn’t fancy, but it’s busy for a reason. Tucked into the Klahanie neighborhood, this park is one of Sammamish’s best multi-use spaces — especially if you’re here for sports, kids, or just need a reliable go-to for some fresh air.
We’ve been to Klahanie Park more times than we can count — for soccer games, pickup basketball, or impromptu picnics when the sun comes out. It’s not quiet and remote like some of the wooded parks in town, but if you’ve got kids or a ball of any kind, it’s exactly what you need.

What You’ll Find
Sports Fields
- Two full-size soccer fields (turf, with lights) — booked often for practices and games, but open for public use when not reserved.
- Baseball field with bleachers — usually busy in spring/summer with little league.
Courts & Play Areas
- Basketball court: Full-size and usually active after school.
- Tennis courts: Decent condition, but bring your own gear.
- Playground: Big climbing structure, swings, and equipment for a range of ages — shaded and fenced on three sides, which helps with wandering toddlers.
General Amenities
- Paved walking path: Loops around the fields and through the park — stroller and scooter-friendly.
- Grassy areas for lounging, playing catch, or just stretching out.
- Picnic tables and benches scattered throughout the park, some shaded.
- Bathrooms: Yes — and they’re real ones, not portable units.
Why We Like It
- Great all-in-one park — sports, play, open space
- Tons of activity — there’s almost always something going on
- Well-maintained and easy to navigate
- Good for meetups and groups — especially if you’re planning a casual gathering with kids
- Safe and family-friendly — lots of visibility and regular foot traffic
Parking & Access
- Parking lot on-site, but it can fill up during games or busy weekends
- Street parking available in surrounding neighborhood — just be mindful of signage
- Bikeable from many parts of Klahanie and southern Sammamish
Good to Know
- Dogs welcome, but on leash only
- Fields are turf, which means they’re usable year-round — but get hot in summer
- Bring your own sports gear — no rental or on-site equipment
- No major trails — stick to the loop or visit nearby Evans Creek or Soaring Eagle for real hikes
- Noise level can get high on game days — not a quiet park if you’re looking for solitude
Final Thoughts
Klahanie Park is a neighborhood workhorse — dependable, well-used, and loved by families, athletes, and anyone looking for a park that just works. It’s not the most scenic spot in Sammamish, but it’s one of the most useful.
If you live nearby, it’ll quickly become part of your weekly rhythm. And if you’re coming from another part of town for a game or practice — bring a snack, walk a lap, and make yourself at home.
